Getting ready for Britain in Bloom judging - volunteers needed

Dear All

This is to let you know that Kings Heath is being judged by the Heart of England In Bloom judges on the afternoon of Wednesday 13th July.
We need to get Kings Heath ready!
We are therefore holding 2 action evenings on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th starting at 6.00 pm each evening at the BID Office at 1A Station Road above Vesey and Clarke. We hope to amass a large team to blitz all the weeds, graffiti, fly-posting etc from the High Street area.
On Monday we will be concentrating on weeding. So if you can bring along gloves, some green bags and a spade or hoe that would be great. We need to weed all the tree pits on the High Street, the 2 beds at Regency Court, the entrance to Milford Place and any other weeds that can be seen from the High Street and York Road. The session will be lead by Cathy Edwards and the contact for the evening is Michelle Sadler.
On Tuesday evening we will be tackling litter hot-spots such as the empty building on Vicarage Road opposite the Village Square, removal of fly-posting/stickers from street furniture, removal of blue-tac from around cash points (not yet sure how best to do this) and graffiti removal. Please bring any thing that you think might be useful like black bin-bags, gloves, scrapers, sand-paper, a bucket and cloths. The contact for the evening is myself, Oz.
After each session will go for a drink in a pub/bar.
Hope you can make it. Its great fun!
Oz
This year Kings Heath has also made it through to the national part of Britain In Bloom as the region's representative in the Urban Communities category. This means that this year we will also be judged by the National judges on Tuesday 7th August. We will therefore be holding similar action evenings on Sunday 5th and Monday 6th August.
More details nearer the time.
