Street food, live music in the square and fireworks at midnight: Kings Heath could be the place to see the arrival of 2016 this New Year.
Since Kings Heath Village Square was created a few locals have gathered each New Year's Eve with guitars for a seasonal sing-along and unofficial celebration. This year for the first time there will be an organised event.
It promises to be a family celebration with a children's funfair during the afternoon, then joined by street food (6pm), a licensed bar (6pm) also serving non-alcoholic drinks and then live music from 8pm. The event is all free, although there is a £5 admission for a disco in the All Saints Centre next to the Kings Heath Village Square.
At midnight, All Saints church bells will ring in the New Year and there will be a small fireworks display. Many local restaurants and pubs will stay open for the celebrations to continue.
